BALLANTRAE
linked with ST COLMON'S
Unrestricted Call
This linkage, as of May
2008, combines two distinct parishes; one coastal
and the
other rural, in the
beautiful unspoiled area of South Carrick. Ballantrae
has a busy and supportive congregation, very much
involved at the heart of the community; while St
Colmon’s, with its lovely old kirk and fine
pipe organ, has a long tradition of church music
and liturgy and a core of dependable hard working
members. Both parishes have a long tradition of
a strong pastoral lead from the minister.
We are looking for a minister with experience of
life and pastoral know how, who can be at ease with,
and communicate across a broad social mix and lead
these two communities into a new chapter of work
and witness in their journey of faith.
The Manse, (a good family house), located in the
lively seaside village of Ballantrae has been modernised
and is in excellent condition. There is a very good
school and an excellent medical centre. Road connections
to Ayr, Girvan and Stranraer are good.
